Dori Marx

Author of the Wonder World Book Series

Dori Marx grew up in Austria and traveled the world several times before choosing New England as her home. There, she lives with her husband and three children, along with an ever-growing number of rescue dogs, goats, pet chickens, and ducks. Although she isn’t a vet, she has a soft spot for all animals and has even learned to coexist with the spiders in her barn.

Dori’s books are illustrated by artists living in the countries that the Wonder World Kids visit. These local illustrators lend their unique style to the artwork for each book. Wonder World Kids is her first book series for emerging readers ages seven and up.

So far she has taken her young readers to Austria, Peru, New York City, Kenya, and Costa Rica. She is currently working on her next book which will take place in Yellowstone National Park.

Dori is available for book presentations, readings, and signings at your school or library. Her Wonder World Kids books can be used to highlight a variety of topics, including geography, environmental issues, and various animal species. She offers grade level worksheets for K through 4 for each of her books.

“During the long evenings of accompanying my three emerging readers on their journey to becoming lifelong book enthusiasts, I lamented the lack of engaging but educational chapter books for those awkward in-between stages around seven to ten years.

I believed that shorter chapters and text blocks would keep my children committed longer and help them build their reading stamina while boosting their confidence.”
