Dori Marx
Author of the Wonder World Book Series
Dori Marx grew up in Austria and traveled extensively before making New England her home. She lives there with her husband and three children, along with an ever-growing family of rescue dogs, goats, chickens —and a few spiders she has learned to coexist with.
Her popular Wonder World Kids chapter book series is a favorite among readers ages seven to twelve. Inspired by her love of animals and travel, the books combine animal adventures with geography, environmental issues, mystery, and a touch of magic.
Designed with larger print and short chapters to build reading confidence and stamina, the series introduces young readers to real-world environmental topics and includes a glossaries and resources. Each story takes young readers to a different part of the world, from palaces in Austria and the mountains of Peru, all the way to the savanna in Kenya and the wilderness of Patagonia. Dori researches each book extensively and visits the locations where her stories take place. She also works with local artists lending their unique talents to the chapter illustrations for each book.
Dori is available for school and library visits, readings and book signings. Her Wonder World Kids books can be used to highlight a variety of topics, including environmental issues, conservation, geography, and various animal species.
